Kathy Banken

Kathy Marie Banken, 71, of Pine River, passed away on January 26, 2024, at her home, to be with her Lord.

Kathy was born on November 21, 1952, to Robert and Wanda (King) Zumbrunnen in Swanburg, MN. Kathy graduated from Pine River High School in 1972. As a small child, Kathy moved to Bozeman, Montana with her parents and seven siblings, moving back to Pine River as a teenager. This past November, Kathy and her sisters were able to go back out to Bozeman for a vacation; what a wonderful time they had together.

Kathy loved reading, crafting, puzzles, gardening, being outdoors, and visiting with friends and family. Kathy lived in Sebeka for many years before moving back to Pine River 12 years ago.

Kathy is survived by her sons, Jeremy (Bria), of Minneapolis, Jerome of Minneapolis, and Justin of Georgia; all of whom were her pride and joy. Grandchildren, Madison, Issac, Meredith, Abigail, Chance, Evelyn, Hannah, and Parker; great-grandchildren, Oliver, Weston, TJ, Alaia, and a baby girl due in March; brother, Stanley (Louise) Zumbrunnen of Big Lake; sisters, Cindy Wright of Buffalo, and Wendy (Roger) Hoplin of Pine River; and many nieces and nephews.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donald, Larry, Milton, and Steven.

A private burial will be held at a later date. The family would like to invite all who knew Kathy for a celebration of life at 1 PM on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Bites Grill and Bar in Pine River.
