Kathleen Jane Wrobleski (née Connor), age 92, of Pine River, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, at Benedictine Health Center in New Brighton, MN. She was born February 24, 1926, in Omaha, Nebraska, to James and Nora Connor (née Peterson). Kathleen was raised in Minneapolis and the Pine River area of Minnesota. Graduating from Pine River High School in 1944, she entered nurses training at St. Barnabus Hospital in Minneapolis and soon worked at La Rabida hospital in Chicago. After meeting her future husband, John Wrobleski there, she married in 1948, and moved to the Cleveland, Ohio, area for the next 22 years. She returned with her family to Minnesota in 1968.
Despite many personal tragedies, including the loss of her husband and two sons in a 1971 traffic accident, Kathleen was known for her optimism, faith, and joy. She was mother not just to her own family but anyone who needed a kind word or helping hand. Her wise counsel was always available to anyone who needed help. Her defining characteristic was her love of people, especially children.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, John; sons, Michael and Stephen; and daughter, Karen Kradle. She is survived by sons, John Jr. (Karen), of Mars, PA, James (Nancy) of Eagan, MN, Mark (Terri) of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Susan (Michael) Eibes of Mounds View, MN; brothers, Leland Miller of Woodbury, MN, Wayne Miller of Ramsey; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; son-in-law, Kirt Kradle; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM on Monday, March 26, at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River. Services will be 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 27 at Riverview Church, Pine River with visitation the hour prior and also 12 PM on Wednesday, March 28, at Sunset Funeral Chapel, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Minneapolis.
