Kathleen Williams

Kathleen Williams, age 88, of Staples, passed away at the Lakewood Health System on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. A Funeral Service is planned for Monday, July 2, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4-6, and one hour prior to the service, at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

Kathleen was born on June 29, 1923 in Londonderry, Ireland to Sara McMenamin. During World War II Kathleen met James L. Williams while he was stationed in Ireland. After the war Kathleen moved to Minnesota and married James on July 16, 1946. Soon after they were married they took over the family business in Staples, Williams Floral & Nursery. Kathleen continued to work in the flower shop until her death. Kathleen always had a smile and loved to share her many lifelong stories with her customers & family. Her love & caring nature will be missed by family & friends.

She is survived by one brother, Frank (Margaret) McMenamin, England; sons, Frank (Karen) Williams, Staples, Steve Williams, Reno, Nevada; one daughter, Kathryn (Bob) Erickson, Staples; 11 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her mother, Sara & step-father, Dan Sheehan; her husband, James; brother, Danny Sheehan and infant granddaughter.
