Kathleen M. Shannon (Iacono), 73, of Crosslake, formerly of Minneapolis, MN passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, March 30.
Mrs. Shannon is survived by her husband of 54 years, Darrell, and by her beloved daughters, Stephanie (Tim) Mitchell and Jennifer (Pietro) Boggio, and her granddaughter, Marielle Mitchell.
Mr. and Mrs. Shannon were devoted to each other; she called him the love of her life and he woke her up every morning for over 40 years with a cappuccino. Theirs was a fairytale relationship.
Kathy was a force of nature with a big personality and big emotions who made everything beautiful - her home, her garden, and her table. She loved a martini and was a fan of anything that sparkled, and she scattered glitter along with her love to all her family and cherished friends.
Everyone has a superpower and Kathy's was showing up - she went to every wedding, every funeral, every sixth birthday party, no matter how far she had to drive. She sent Valentines and made sure every girl under 18 in the family had a beautiful new dress to wear for Christmas. She was the first person to offer help and share your enthusiasm for anything good that happened to a loved one or a complete stranger.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter; services will be held at Pinewood Cemetery this summer.
