Kathleen Petterson

Kathleen “Kathy” Marie Petterson, age 67, of Baxter passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society – Bethany in Brainerd. Kathy’s memorial service will be Friday, October 20, beginning at 11 am, at Lakewood Evangelical Free Church in Baxter. Visitation will be during the hour prior to her service.

Kathy was born February 19, 1950 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Minneapolis, to Deryl and Ginger (Ford) Petterson. She grew up and attended school in Hopkins, graduating from high school and attending a life skills class there. She worked at Glen Lakes Sanatorium, a tuberculosis hospital, for 15-20 years. She enjoyed spending summers at the family cabin on Silver Lake. After her dad retired, she stayed with Peggy whenever her parents traveled. After their lake cabin was winterized, she lived there with her family year-round, and she continued to live there with Peggy following the deaths of their parents. Kathy enjoyed painting, loom knitting, and flower gardening. She liked horses and English Springers, and especially loved her Springer, Barney.

Kathy is survived by her siblings, Terry (Mike) Deveny of Ft. St. James, Munro Lake, British Columbia, Ford (Linda) Petterson of Maricopa, AZ, and Peggy Petterson of Baxter; a sister-in-law, Wendy Muenchow; and 13 nieces and nephews.
