Kathleen Lachelt

Kathleen Lachelt of Brainerd, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully with family by her side on October 9, 2011. She was born November 22, 1933 to Jerome and Regina (Marson) Utecht in St. Paul, MN. Kathleen grew up in the Mpls/St. Paul area. Following graduation she attended Hamline University where she earned her Nursing degree. On September 4, 1954, Kathleen was united in marriage to Harold Lachelt in Minneapolis, MN. Kathleen was the co-owner and business partner, with Harold, of Acorn Nursery and Landscaping in Brainerd for over 35 years. Her interests and hobbies included spending time with her family, cooking, baking, gardening and nature. She was also an avid Vikings fan.

Kathleen is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Harold Lachelt; four children, Jeff (Lori) Lachelt, Joe (Sue) Lachelt, Jeana Kidd and Julie Lachelt, all in Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Eugene Utecht, Patricia Page(Don), Leo Utecht, Jerry Utecht and Cheryl Utecht; sister-in-law, Janice Pagel(Carroll) and brother-in-law, Marvin Lachelt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Regina.

Memorial services will be 10 AM on Thursday, October 13 at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes with refreshments following. A memorial gathering, for family and close friends, will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph's Foundation at Essentia Health in Brainerd, MN. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes.
