Kathleen Kounkel

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, Kathleen Etta Kounkel beloved mother and grandmother passed into the golden gates of heaven, at the age of 66 from an intense battle of pancreatic cancer.

She was born on October 12, 1957, in Brainerd, MN

She will be forever missed by her children Amy (John) Feriancek, Joe Kounkel, and Billy Kounkel.   Her treasured Grandchildren Jimmy, Jaydon, Tommy, Jordan, Lydia and August.  

Survived by siblings Caroline Holmes, Bill (Debbie) Borg, Netty (David) Stelter, and Jeff Borg along with many precious nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents Mynerva Irene and Bernard Borg, Siblings: Diane, Patty, Richard, David, and John.  Tragedy struck and she lost her beloved son Jimmy in 1991 on her birthday.

She grew up on the family farm and enjoyed the Brainerd Lakes Area.  She enjoyed going for car cruises and loved to let the windows down and embraced the wind.  Music was her passion at a young age and won many singing competitions.   She will always be remembered for her stubborn and her adventurous wit.

Celebration of Life at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, 7348 Excelsior Rd N, Baxter, MN 56425, on Thursday May 16^th, at 11am with visitation 10-11am, Luncheon following service.

Burial will be a private ceremony for immediate family members.
