Kari Lynn Kvamme's courageous battle with cancer ended peacefully at home on Monday, October 28, surrounded by her family and friends.
Kari was born on February 11, 1964 in Wadena, Minnesota to Kenneth and Marilyn (Brenna) Kvamme. She was raised in Wadena and Verndale and graduated from Verndale High School. She lived for 25 years on her farmstead near Verndale, and worked for over twenty years at the Shady Lane Nursing Home in Wadena. Kari was a devoted mother, loved animals, and was a passionate gardener of flowers and ornamental plants. Her gift was to be able to give unselfishly to others. She was compassionate to all those in need at work, at home and with friends and strangers alike. She was a member of the Aldrich Congregational Church. Faith, family and friends were her focus in life.
Kari is survived by her husband Ole Nesset, son Brandon Kvamme, siblings Diane (Bryan) Lindsey; Michael Kvamme, Robin (Dale) Thompson, Dawn (Andre) Kvamme, Jon (Toni) Kvamme, Daniel Kvamme, and Brandi (David) Dessellier, stepson Andy (Gretchen) Nesset, granddaughter Maggie, 23 nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Bill Beven, brother Kenneth J. Kvamme, and her grandparents.
Funeral services for Kari will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Verndale MN. Visitation one hour before the service at the church. Visitation at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples MN Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a celebration of Life.
