Karen Williams

Karen M. Williams, 65, of Staples, MN died Monday, July 13, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services for Karen will be held 11:00AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples, with Pastor Steve Sveom officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 5:00-7:00PM, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples and also one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN.

Karen was born on February 9, 1950 in Brained, MN to Lester and Dolores (Hanson) Higgins. She graduated from Motley High School in 1968. Karen was united in marriage to Frank Williams on July 24, 1971 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, MN. She and her husband, Frank and family owned and operated Williams Floral in Staples. Karen also drove bus for the Staples/Motley School System for 20 years. She enjoyed being a member of the Staples 93 Lions, bingo, going to the lake, and her family and friends. Karen especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Karen is survived by her husband, Frank; children, Bob (Lori) Williams of Sheridan, WY, Bridget (Shane) Gerard of Staples, MN, Pat Williams of Staples, MN; one brother, Leonard (Sally) Higgins of McGregor, MN; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, and one sister, Nancy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
