Junice Winkelman

Junice Winkelman, age 89, of Brainerd and formerly Pequot Lakes, passed away January 1, 2018, at United Hospital, St. Paul. She was born to Henry and Frances Dale on June 14, 1928, in Alberta, MN. She married Richard Winkelman on May 24, 1947. Junice was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Woodland Good Samaritan Auxiliary and was a former member of the Pequot Lakes American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed singing in the Woodland Choir, was an avid gardener, bingo player and a devoted Christian. Junice was a vibrant, caring person who enjoyed helping people and was a friend to everyone she met. Her greatest love was her family.

Junice is survived by children: Marilyn Long (Larry) of Lake Helen, FL, Robert Winkelman (Raelene) of Pequot Lakes, Janet Zacharias (Gary) of Wadena; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; siblings: Lyman, Milton, Bud and Vernell.

Services will be 11 AM on Monday, January 8, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Pequot Lakes Cemetery.
