Julie Zylka

Julie Zylka, 69 of Fishtrap Lake, MN died Friday, March 4, 2016 at Essentia-St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, MN. A Memorial Service for Julie will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church in Randall, with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday, March 7, 2016 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Flensburg, MN.

Julie was born April 28, 1946 in Joliet, Illinois to the late Raymond and Violet (Super) Hall. Violet later married Florian Wotzka and they raised Julie in Little Falls, MN. Julie graduated from St. Francis High School in 1964.Julie married her childhood sweetheart and love of her life, Kenneth Zylka on December 19, 1966 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls. They lived in various communities and raised their family in Buffalo, MN. Ken and Julie moved to Fishtrap Lake where she was a resident until her death. Julie enjoyed making quilts for her family, traveling, camping, fishing, campfires, the lake, and reading. She especially enjoyed her family and grandchildren.

Julie is survived by her husband, Ken; children, Ken Zylka of Brainerd, MN, Cheryl (Danny) Triplett of Little Falls, MN, Amy (Spencer) Dumpprope of Lincoln, MN; sisters, Mary Zahn, Paula Seelen, Becky Wotzka, Laurie Marvin; six grandchildren, Kalyn, Lacy, Trevor, Megan, Rachel and Kiera. She was preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall, MN.
