I was born to Leroy and Shirley Schmelzer in Freeport, Illinois on July 2, 1951. I lived there for 30 years and worked mostly factory work. I met lots of beautiful people there. In that time there, I had three beautiful children. In 1981, my kids and I moved to Longville to be by my parents. Neal Williams and I were together from 1983 to 1999. In 1999, I married Neal Williams. Neal took very good care of me in sickness and in health. I enjoyed moving to the Longville area and loved working for the café for around 17 years. I met all walks of people, color and race. Most local people were very nice to me and I have lots of great memories and love them all.
I love white wild roses, wild daisies, walks on a sunshiny day and people. Heroes of mine are John F. Kennedy, Dale Earnhardt and first of all, my dad, Lee.
I am survived by my husband, Neal of Longville; daughter, Shannon Barnes (Jim), a son, Jason both of Warroad, MN and a son, Jesse of Anchorage, Alaska; four grandsons, Tyler, Kyle, Jordan and Spencer; two nieces and one nephew and many friends I love very much.
I am preceded in death by my parents, Lee and Shirley Schmelzer and one brother, Gary Lee.
