Judy was born on November 18th, 1942 in South Bend, Indiana to Roy & Dorothy Kimble. Judy grew up with her brothers Ray, Bud, and Jerry in the South Bend area of Roseland; she graduated from Washington Clay High School, and continued her education at Saint Mary's college. Upon completion of her education, Judy held a strong desire to start a family of her own. Unable to have children, she adopted her daughter Sheri and soon after she adopted Steve.
Judy was working at South Bend Beauty Supply when she met Roger Zimmerman. One year later, on December 21st, 1973 they were married. Throughout the next 38 years of their marriage Judy continued working but ultimately found her career at Farm Bureau Insurance. In 1983, Judy, along with her family, moved to Maple Grove, MN. She continued to work in the Insurance industry holding numerous positions such as claims adjustor, administrator, and agent. She retired in May, 2001. In 2002 she and Roger moved from Maple Grove to Becker, MN and eventually settled in Baxter, MN in 2005. Throughout her life Judy had many passions. She loved sewing, making quilts and crafts; however she found most of her joy by simply being with her family and serving God in any capacity that was called of her. As a member of the Lakewood Church, Judy's greatest enjoyment and contribution was singing with the Praise Worship Team. She also worked in the Nursery, Prayer Team, and the Adult Bible Community Team. Judy enjoyed going to the lake, watching the sunsets, traveling, fishing, and reading. However, it was her quiet time with devotionals, Bible studies and communicating to the Lord in prayer that was most gratifying.
Judith is survived by her husband of 38 years, Roger; children, Sheri (Christian) Hoskins and Steve (Gwen) Zimmerman; grandchildren, Arek Trok, Hayley (James) Greenleaf, Kyle and Kasey Zimmerman, and Gavin Hoskins; great-grandchildren, Autumn Greenleaf; brothers, Bud (Kimberly) Kimble, Jerry (Sharon) Kimble, Ray (Arlene) Kimble, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
