Judith Johnson

Judith M. Johnson, 77, of Pillager died on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at her home. Funeral Services for Judy will be on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00AM at First Lutheran Church in Pillager with Pastor Hector Merced officiating with visitation one hour prior to services at the church.

Judie was born on May 8, 1935 in Brainerd, MN to George and Margaret (Dilley) Gerrels. She was united into marriage to Grant Johnson on June 16, 1960 at the First Lutheran Church in Pillager. They moved to Crosby where Judie worked for Crosby-Ironton High School as a Media Specialist. They returned to Pillager in 2000. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where she was the church pianist/organist. Judie was also a past member of Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood, MN. She was passionate about her faith through music, which touched many lives young and old.

Judie is survived by her loving husband, Grant; son, Shayne (Louise) Johnson of Aitkin, MN; daughter, Shawna Ellingsen of Brainerd, MN; uncle, Edward (Vi) Gerrels of Brainerd, MN; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
