Joyce Vogt, age 86, of Pine River, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on November 2, 2011. She was born November 26, 1924, in Chicago, IL, to Claude and Hazel McKinney. She graduated from high school in 1942 and married Jerry Vogt on December 29, 1943. They moved to Jackson Hole, WY, where they lived a rustic life as Jerry worked on a ranch. They moved to Glendive, MT, in 1952, and then to Pine River in 1962. They operated their own cattle ranch for 37 years. Joyce worked as an LPN at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Home for 20 years and retired in 1985. She loved sharing God's word and praying for others.
Joyce is survived by three children: Kathi Rokke (Ralph), Ted Vogt (Susan), Duane Vogt (Charlene); son-in-law, Dean Saba; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Dale, in 1949; husband, Jerry, in 2005; and daughter, Lynne in 2010.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November 11, at the Church of the Nazarene, Backus, with Pastor John Rister officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
