Joyce Hines

April 1, 1919 — February 16, 2011

Joyce Hines, age 91, of Little Falls, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial for Joyce will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Randall on Saturday February 19, 2011 at 11:00AM with Father Leo Moenkedick officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the St. James Cemetery.

Joyce was born on April 1, 1919 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of George and Pearl (Eckerson) Bailey. Joyce was raised by her aunt, Julia (Elmer) Eden after her mother, Pearl's passing when Joyce was just six months old. She graduated from Little Falls High School in 1938. Joyce worked for Morrison County Courthouse for a few years before she was united into marriage to Clarence on September 5, 1940. Joyce and Clarence farmed in Darling Township before moving to Randall in 1991. Joyce and Clarence enjoyed living in town; Joyce especially liked living at St. Otto's Care Center. She often said how good everyone there was to her and how she loved them all. Joyce loved being a homemaker and farmer. She also enjoyed collecting antique cream pitchers and flower gardening. Joyce was a life-long member of St. James Catholic Church where she also participated in Christian Mothers.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence and her parents. She will be sadly missed by her nephew, Robert (fiancé Debbie Louison) Hines; great niece, Sherri (Doug) Weikert; great nephews, Rick (Tracy) Hines and Lee (Caren) Hines; special friends, Geri and Jim McLennan and Tricia (Greg) Cox; brothers-in-law, Wilbur "Bill" Hines, of Randall, Vernon (Helen) Hines, of Randall, and Elmer (Alyce) Hines of San Jose, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
