Joyce Bjork

Joyce Ann (Luther) Bjork, 86, of Brainerd, MN passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Good Samaritan Village - Woodland Campus. Joyce was born on April 29, 1929, to Cyrus and Agnes Luther in Ironwood, MI. Joyce married Dewey Arvid Bjork on September 10, 1949 and they recently celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary.

Joyce was a homemaker, wonderful cook, and also worked for the Aurora Hoyt Lakes School District. She was an active church member and loved to sing in the church choir. In retirement, she and her husband enjoyed RVing and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty (Luther) Hedstrom; and three brothers. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dewey; son Dewey W. (Kay); daughters, Bev (Peter) Dunphy, and Gretchen (Tom) Frederick; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special niece, Nancy Semler; special nephew, Bruce Hedstrom; and close family friends, Stan and Anne Glad.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM, at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. There will be no interment as Joyce has donated her body to science in hopes of finding a cure for Alzheimer's.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Good Samaritan Village - Woodland Campus and Horizon Health, Inc (Hospice).

She will be greatly missed by her husband and family.
