Joy Scheper

Joy E. Scheper, age 79, of Motley, passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital on Saturday, October 27, 2007. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 31at 11:00 at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Motley Public Cemetery.
Joy was born on February 3, 1928, in Nebraska, to Warren and Emma Carpenter. At a young age her family moved to Sebeka and she attended school there, graduating from the 8th grade. In 1961 she moved to Motley where she raised her five children and worked at Moreys Fish Company. She loved to crochet and spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joy is survived by her children, Carol Kort of Motley, Bonnie Head of Pequot Lakes, Nancy (Loren) Bell of Northome, Jacqueline (Scott) Diederich of St. Joseph, and David Scheper of North Branch; grandchildren, Tammy, Jina, Tasha, Jeremy, Scott, Todd, Tom, Roxy, Nicole, Toni, Lindsey, Dusty, JD, and Cole; 17 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ethel (Edward A.) Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Tracy; great-granddaughter Paige; brothers, Cal and Bud; sister, Esther, and special companion, Tippy.
