Joy Hanson, 86, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2018 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Care Center in Crosby. Joy, a lifetime Brainerd resident, was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Chester D. Hanson; her parents; and sisters, Jeanette, Joann, Patricia, and Francis.
Joy will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her surviving children, Pamela (Gary) Nelson, Diane (Dan Berg) Thoe, Brad (Leeann Kelley) Hanson, and Sue (Joe) Streit; her adored grandchildren, Tom (Mandi) Hinson, Jonathan (Kate) Clough, Jean Hanson, Jeff Hanson, Jacob, Kelly and Thomas Streit; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Andrew and Finn Clough, Alexa Hinson, and Garrett Wichner. She is also survived by her brother, John Aylward; sisters, Nancy Hines, Rayola Killingstad, and Penny Woods; sister-in-law, Shirley Warrick; brothers-in-law, Don (Carol) Hanson and Bob Branchaud; Steve (Amanda) Hinson and family; and many loved nieces and nephews and treasured friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff and friends at CRMC Hospital and Care Center, HomeHealth Partnership Hospice, Heartwood, and Hallett Cottages for their kind and compassionate care.
A Celebration of Joy’s Life will take place at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
