Josephine Hurst

Josephine "Josi" Sobiech Hurst, Passed away on September27, 2013, her 88th birthday. She was born Sept 27, 1925 in Little Falls, MN to Blaise and Mary Rietzka Sobiech. Josi attended Our Lady of Lourdes grade school and graduated from Saint Francis in Little Falls. She was a member of St. Andrews church in Brainerd, MN.
Josi was a warm and compassionate person who was loved by all that knew her. She was always quick with a kind word and beautiful smile when you saw her. She enjoyed many activities including shooting a game of pool, fishing, bowling, and loved to play cards. She also loved her garden, canning and her pets.
Josi also loved to volunteer. She was an active member of the Billings, Montana VFW Post 6774, even serving as chaplain for many years. She delivered meals on wheels, and would jump at almost any opportunity that involved helping others
She is survived by her daughter Mary Madsen Brunsberg, Brother Casy Sobiech, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, daughter Lucille "Lu" Anderson, brothers Louie, John and Paul Sobiech, sisters Wanda Tabatt, Hattie Gustafson, Sister Teresita Sobiech, Lucy Gustafson and one grandson Kevin Anderson.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Josi will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 11:00AM at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN with Father Brandon Moravitz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Our Lady of Lords Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
