Josephine Hagstrom

Josephine (Jo) E. (Mitchell) Hagstrom, age 91, of Baxter, passed into her eternal home Monday morning, October 27, 2008, surrounded by family. Funeral Services will be AT 3:OO pm Thursday, October 30, 2008, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral chapel and also for one hour prior to services on Thursday. Interment will be Friday in Fort Snelling National Cemetery at Minneapolis.
Jo and her late husband, Roy, were former owners of Mitchells Sylvan Resort on Sylvan Lake. She was the Assistant Director of Emergency Services for Crow Wing County from 1970-1982. A long time resident of Brainerd, she was a 55 year member of the American Legion Womens Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Mitchell, and 2nd husband, Al Hagstrom; a son, Allan Mitchell; parents, Herbert and Bessie Miller; and brothers, Archie, Russell, Bernie, Howard, and Glenn. She will be lovingly missed by her daughters, Patricia Foote of San Antonio, TX, Kay (Bill) Boss of Rio Rancho, NM, son, Wayne (Jerri) Mitchell of Baxter and Fergus Falls, MN; daughter-in-law, Carol Mitchell of Pillager; Als daughter, Holly (Bob) Welch of Brainerd and son, Fred (Sarah) Hagstrom of Northfield, MN; brothers, Chet (Delores) Miller and Harlan (Audrey) Miller both of Marshall, MN; sisters, Betty (Hugo) Frahm of Marshall, MN, and Peggy Henrikson of Arden Hills, MN; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild; and also several nieces and nephews.
