Long-time Pequot Lakes resident, Joseph Wolfgang Zwack, passed away Sunday, October 8, at St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd. He was 84 years old. Services will be at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes on Wednesday, October 11, at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will be served at the Nisswa American Legion, followed by interment at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery (Camp Ripley) at 2:00 p.m., where Joe will receive full military honors.
Joe was active in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and served as a U.S Army Infantryman in World War II. Prior to moving to Pequot Lakes, Joe spent 17 years as owner/operator of Joes Standard Service in Glen Lake, Minnesota. Joe and his family moved to Pequot Lakes in 1970. Joe will be remembered for his love of card-playing, travel, the outdoors, old timeaccordion music, and woodworking.
Joe is survived by his wife Hildegard, 8 children, 16 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
