Joseph P. Rohloff, 81, of Brainerd, MN died at Heritage House in Pequot Lakes, MN on Saturday, January 16, 2016. A Gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN from 1:00-3:00PM. A luncheon will follow the gathering in the Brenny Funeral Chapel Reception Room in Baxter, MN.
Joseph was born on July 17, 1934 in Brainerd, MN to Gustaf and Emma (Klepel) Rohloff. He grew up in Fort Ripley, MN and attended school at Brainerd High School where he played football. He married Anna Marie Fenger on August 22, 1956. He taught jungle warfare in Panama with the United States Army. Joseph worked for a lumber company delivering lumber and was a heavy equipment mechanic at Camp Ripley. Joseph enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cutting wood.
Joseph is survived his children, Cindy (Kevin) Stensrud of Cheyenne, WY, Bambie (Chuck) Pleinis of Puyallup, WA, Myron Rohloff of Brainerd, MN, and Justin Rohloff of Brainerd, MN; five grandchildren; siblings, Frank (Lorraine), Jim (Mary), Idella, and June Gorron. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna Marie; brothers, William, Rueben, and Arnold Rohloff; sisters, Dorothy, Beatrice, and Frieda. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
