Joseph John Dembouski, 83, of Pierz, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding. Family and friends are welcome to gather Monday evening from 5-7 PM and Tuesday morning one hour prior to Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment with Military Honors will take place at 2:00 PM, Tuesday at Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls.
Joe “Ski” was born January 26, 1934, the son of Joseph and Florence (Pelarski) Dembouski. He was raised and educated in the Harding Area and St. Paul. He served in the US Army. In 1960, he married Grace Weiss and the couple made their home in Harding. He worked as a heavy equipment operator on a road construction crews. When he turned 65, he retired. Joe enjoyed the outdoors – especially fishing, hunting, and trapping. He also liked wood carving.
He will be missed by his wife, Grace; children, Jacqueline (Steven) Barthelemy, of Royalton, Jeffrey (Dusty) Dembouski, of Harding, Kevin (Kari) Dembouski, of Harding, and Kimberly (Bryan) Bednarek, of Sauk Rapids; eight grandchildren, Jeremy and Matthew Barthelemy, Tyler and Christopher Dembouski, Daisy and Ivy Dembouski, Brie and Ethan Bednarek; and sisters, Gen Zimmerman of Randall, Ardell Killeaney of Little Falls and Diane Dembouski of Hugo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Florence and his sisters, Aileen Prokott and Doris Dembouski.
Visitation Monday, 4/17, from 5-7 pm, at the church. "Carriage ride" from the church to the farm, beginning at 3 pm. Visitation will continue during the hour before Mass on Tuesday.
