John "Jack" Zabinski, 74, of Bowlus, MN died at his home on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in North Prairie, MN. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 4:00-9:00PM at the church and on Saturday, visitation will be from 9:00-11:00AM before services. Interment will be at Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery.
John was born on March 13, 1941 in St. Cloud, MN to Clothilde (Tilly) Weyrens and Joseph Zabinski. He was united in marriage with Lucille Prom on August 28, 1962. Jack was a lifelong farmer. After retiring from farming, Jack worked as a butcher for Elmdale Creamery. As much as he loved farming Jack loved helping other people. His hobbies included dancing, collecting agates, softball, hockey, and playing cards - especially 500. He was a member of the St. Joseph Society, Royalton School Board, Knights of Columbus, and the parish council.
Jack is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lucille; children, Michael, Ann (Ron) Borash, David, Tony, Pat, Ron, Mary (Jan) Kaeter, Rich (Sharon), Ruth (Jeremy) Vorwerk; nineteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Joseph, Alice, (Ben Supan), Jean (Ray Weyer), Jerry (Kathy), and Bob (Nancy). He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Michael Borash; and siblings, Donna, Carol, and Jimmy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall, MN.
