John Voels

John S. Voels, age 63 of Brainerd, passed away at his home on Thursday. A memorial service is scheduled for Monday October 3rd, at 12:00 Noon, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. There will be a time for visitation one hour before the service. There will then be a private family scattering of John?s ashes at a later date. John was born on September 19th, 1942 to Clarence and Mabel (Collins) Voels, in Brainerd, MN. He was raised and attended school here. He moved down to the Twin Cities for a time and then came back to Brainerd about 15 years ago. John loved his job as a salesman for Reed?s Distributing. John was a member of the Moose Lodge; he loved antiquing, collecting guns, country music, and the outdoors. He especially had a great love for his family. He was a friend to many and will be remembered for his great sense of humor. John was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Mabel, his brothers; Joe, Carl, and Steve, a sister Marie, and a granddaughter Ashley. He is survived by his two daughters Suzanne (Jon) Giese and Angela (Terry) Usherwood, grandchildren; Jessica, Michael, Jimmy, and Lauren, brothers Leroy, Conrad, Louie, and Bob, and sister?s Joyce Young and Joan Lundberg.
