John Douglas Nemes, 85, of Crosslake, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2010 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crosslake with Father Mike Patullo officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Building Fund.
John was born July 20, 1925 in Home-Brook Township, MN, the son of Joe and Rose (Fabbrini) Nemes. John served his country in the US Marine Corps before he joined the workforce. He worked for over 44 years as a sign installer. He was a member of Sheetmetal Workers, Local # 10.
John will be missed by his wife, Rosella; his sisters, Lenore Hubert, of Santa Rosa, CA and Lois Cuder, of Corona, CA; his brother, William (Nicky) Nemes, of Minneapolis, MN; his sister-in-law, Barbara Wannarka, of Austin, MN; two god-daughters, Mary Jo Schwalbe and Marijo Fischer; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Adrienne and Jeanette; and his brothers, Joe, Chuck, and Rodney.
