John Herron

John "Jack" A. Herron, 87, of Brainerd, MN died at St. Cloud Hospital on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Tony Wroblewski officiating. Family and friends are gathering one hour prior.

John was born on October 29, 1927 in Brainerd, MN to Raymond and Katherine (Remmels) Herron. John married Gail Hazelton in Brainerd, MN on August 5, 1950. He served in the United States Army in 1945-1946. John enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, and driving his tractor. He loved watching all Minnesota sports, but his greatest accomplishment and joy was his family. John was a member of Breath of Life, Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Brainerd American Legion.

John is survived by his wife, Gail; children, Dianne (John Riddell-significant other) of Merrifield, MN, Brenda (Karl) Budahn of East Gull Lake, MN, John Herron of Merrifield, MN, Wendy (Dave) Leonard of Brainerd, MN, Robert Herron of Brainerd, MN, and Jeffrey Herron of Merrifield, MN; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Katherine; granddaughter, Jennifer Nelson; and brothers, Bill and Tom. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
