John Gerhardt

John E. Gerhardt, 68, was born May 13, 1945, the son of Everett John and Lucille (Oberman) Gerhardt and passed away February 20, 2014 at his home in Minneapolis, MN. A Celebration of John's life will take place at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Visitation with the family will begin one hour prior to service.

John graduated from Brainerd High School in 1963 and joined the Army shortly after. He was a tool and dye maker and later became a truck driver for many years.
John was a very kind, patient, and gentle man. He loved to cook, spend time outdoors and always made time to read a good book. He took pride in everything he did. He was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his daughters, Kris (Trent) Spreeman, of Baxter, Kelly (Chuck) Mankowski, of Brainerd, Katie Gerhardt (Travis Storey), of Brainerd; grandchildren, Trisha, Tyler, Trey, Mason, Carson, Breckyn, and Olivia; sister, Ruth Bredemann, of Salt Lake City, UT; brothers, Bill Gerhardt, of Pequot Lakes and Jim Gerhardt, of Minneapolis; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Gerhardt; mother, Lucille Thomson; stepfather, Lee Thomson; and brother, Fred Gerhardt.
