John Eischeid

John Eischeid, 65, of Motley, MN, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer at his son and daughter in law's home, surrounded by his children, sister and grandchildren. A Memorial Service for John will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Motley United Methodist Church in Motley, MN, with Pastor Greg Ciesluk officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 5:00-7:00PM, Friday, November 27, 2015 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, and also one hour prior to services at the church.

John was born April 3, 1950 in Spencer, Iowa to Leonard and Mary (Chapman) Eischeid. He graduated from Spencer High School and went on to college in Sioux City, IA from 1968-1971. John was married to Mary Schierholz on June 14, 1969 in Hartley, IA. In 1971, he bought the sale barn in Spencer. In 1981, John built Tri County Livestock sale barn in Motley with Wayne Hoffman. He sold the sale barn and continued to run the feedlot. John was united in marriage to Janet Zetah on February 28, 1998 in Las Vegas, NV. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the livestock business, and spending time with his family and especially his grandkids. Unlike most, Friday the 13th was one of John's favorite days.

John is survived by his wife, Janet; mother, Mary Eischeid of Spencer, IA; children, Joseph (Heather) Eischeid of Motley, MN, Sara (Jeff) Hemish of Canby, MN, Melissa (Greg) Snobl of Canby, MN; step-daughters, Jessica Windschitl of Minneapolis, MN, Jacquline (Gary) Buerman of Milaca, MN; siblings, Joe (Jean) Eischeid of Blue Springs, MO, Jane (Steve) Lake of Spencer, IA, Mary Lattner of Chandler, AZ, Jim Eischeid of San Diego, CA; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Eischeid; infant sister, Anna Eischeid; nephew, Tyler Lattner; brother in law, Randy Arnold, and nieces Harmony and Jennifer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
