John Clarence Eagle, 50, of Crosslake, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, June 1 at Crosslake Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Larsen officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services.
John was born on December 9, 1962 at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis. Shortly after, the family moved back to Crosslake, MN. He graduated from Pequot Lakes High School in 1981. He went to Brainerd AVTI for five years. He completed Small Engine 1 & 2, Auto Mechanics, and Welding 1 & 2. After graduation, he worked as a tender for his father, who was a brick mason. He did small engine repair for snowmobile racing teams. He later opened John Eagle Performance out of his garage in Crosslake. John was a member of the Trans Am Club. He helped to start snowmobile races for the Lions Club. John loved Crosslake and enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, fishing, deer hunting, snowmobile racing and attending drag races at BIR and the Indy 500.
He will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Lois Eagle, of Crosslake; sister, Helen (Dan) Swanson, of Baxter; niece, Maria, of Brooklyn Center; nephew, Christopher, of Baxter; and uncle, Henry Wheeler, of Ham Lake. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Helen Wheeler; paternal grandparents; and his aunt, Lorraine Kuhn.
