John Bohon

John Wayne Bohon, 71, of Staples, MN passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 at his home. A Memorial service for the family will be held at a later date.

John was born May 28, 1945 in Sedalia, MO to Emmit and Anna Mae (Ferguson) Bohon. He attended country school in Sedalia through the 8th grade and graduated from Smith-Cotton High School. John was very proud to have served in the US Navy for four years, and did a tour of duty in Vietnam. He worked for Consolidated Freightways in Kansas City, MO and retired from there after 30 years. John loved all of the Missouri sports teams-the Royals, Cardinals and Chiefs. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool, gardening, being outdoors and working with his hands. John especially loved watching his son wrestle in high school. He moved to the Staples area about 17 years ago, where he made many friends.

John is survived by his loving family, son, John (Lindsay) Bohon II, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Stephanie Bohon of Aurora, CO; grandsons, Blake and Dylan; brothers, Bill (Bonita) Bohon of Lawson, MO; Bob (Balinda) Bohon of Warrenton, VA; sisters, Mary (Gary) Ware of Grass Valley, CA; Margaret (Paul) Ray of Lee's Summit, MO; Linda (Cecil) Gerke of Sedalia, MO; brother in law, Bill Thurman; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Della Krause, Dorothy Swarfford Labus, Ruth Ann Thurman, and two infant twin sisters. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
