Joel Spilman

Joel Carey Spilman, 54, of Isanti, MN died Monday, November 12, 2018 at his home. Services for Joel will be 11:00AM, Saturday, November 17, 2018, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN. Burial will be in the spring at Poplar Cemetery.

Joel was born March 1, 1964 to Edward and Betty (Durham) Spilman in Brainerd, MN. He grew up and graduated from Brainerd High School in 1982. After high school he attended Moorhead State University and received a degree in Computer Science. He currently worked at BTW Incorporated in Coon Rapids, MN as IT Manager. Joel enjoyed spending many hours in the Brainerd Lakes area hunting and fishing with family and friends. Joel always looked forward to his annual fishing trip to Lake Vermillion with his best friends Craig Wagner and Kevin VanVickle.

Joel was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Spilman. He is survived by his father, Edward (Mary); brothers, Bruce (Cindy), Mark, Neal (Cindy); sister, Lanette (Mike)Faul ; many nieces and nephews. He was especially close to his niece, Abbey Fournier. Services have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
