Joel Norgaard

Joel Eric Norgaard, 51, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in Crosslake, MN. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Crosslake Presbyterian Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM, with the memorial services at 11:00AM. Rev. Kate Stangl will be officiating.

Joel was born December 21, 1963 in Shakopee, MN. Joel graduated from Apple Valley High School in Minnesota. After high school, Joel attended Dakota Technical College receiving a 2-year business degree. Joel spent most of his career working with the Goodyear Corporation in Minneapolis and Indianapolis. He married Jean Martin and eventually settled in the Milwaukee, WI area. In 2010, Joel moved to Crosslake, MN and in 2013 Joel married Candice Christian. Joel was a NASCAR fan and loved movies, skiing, sailing, and tennis. Most of all, Joel loved his family and that included his friends. And that love is his greatest and lasting gift to us. We will miss him; however, he is now reunited with his brothers, Jeremy and Josh.

Joel leaves many family and friends behind. They include his son, Jack , whom he referred to as his "beautiful boy"; Jack's mother, Jean Norgaard, step-daughter, Lauren; parents, Jerry and Patty Norgaard; brothers, Jason (Paula) and Justin; two special nieces, Allison and Madeline; including Candice's children, Jade, Jordan, Chase and Layne; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins that he held dear. Waiting to welcome Joel at Heaven's Gate are Candice Norgaard, wife; brothers, Jeremy and Josh; cousins, Robin and Randy Rosenberg and grandparents, Elmer and Olga Norgaard and Joseph and Dagny Lee.
