JoAnne Bess, 75, of East Gull Lake. JoAnne was a beloved wife and best buddy to Max Bess, she lost her fight with cancer on August 1, 2010. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter, MN.
JoAnne was born in Faribault to Emmett and Esther St Martin and later lived in St. Charles and Rochester. She moved to the lakes area from Rochester and was a long time resident of Horseshoe Lake, and currently of East Gull Lake, and a winter resident of Panama City, Florida. She was a member of the Nisswa American Legion Auxiliary, and a Volunteer member of the Panama City Beach VFW. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse, but found her true vocation in retail, managing the World of Christmas store between Nisswa and Pequot Lakes.
JoAnne loved traveling and sharing new experiences with her husband. She lived life to the fullest. Her favorite activities were gardening, dancing, and conversation with friends at the club's canteens.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Joe Galbreath. In addition to her husband Max, she leaves behind her sons, Mike Galbreath, of Mankato and Charlie Galbreath (Janna), of Rochester, and four step daughters, Vicki Moehnke (Chuck) of Red Wing, Terri Graham (Mark) of Austin, Cindy Sorenson (Mark) of Rochester, and Jody Schwartz (Tim) of Moorhead, her siblings, Marjorie St Martin of Antioch, Illinois, Karen Miller of Rochester, and Phil St Martin of Rochester, her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her many friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
