JoAnn Gangestad

JoAnn L. Gangestad, 74, of Brainerd, MN passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral Services for JoAnn will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 11:00AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd, MN with Pastor Steve Benson officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 4:00-8:00PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd, MN.

JoAnn was born on May 16, 1944 in Brainerd, MN to Walter and Alice ( Engle) Malloy. She married Dellis Gangestad on July 23, 1960. JoAnn was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and the VFW in Brainerd, MN. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and playing pool. JoAnn also loved to cook for and spending time with her family made her the happiest.

JoAnn is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dellis; children, Bonnie (Michael) Eller, Michael (Margie) Gangestad, Barbara (Dwight) Soderman, Mark (Tammy) Gangestad, and Betty (Barry) Nelson; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Rademacker, Darlene Gates, Thomas Malloy, John (Jane) Malloy, and Mary (Oliver) Maleski; and her best friend, Jackie Huber. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alice Malloy; father in-law and mother-in-law, Elmer and Odelia Gangestad. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
