Joan Steele

Joan C. Steele, age 90, of Lake Shore, passed away Saturday morning at the Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. She was born April 15, 1916, in Montevideo, MN, the daughter of Arthur and Jennie (Hauge) Lund. She grew up and went to school in Montevideo, MN, graduating in 1935. In 1949 she was united in marriage to Orvel Steele. After their marriage the couple made their home in St. Paul Park, MN. She worked in the bookkeeping department at the Dayton Corporation in Minneapolis for 28 years. After retiring they moved to Lake Shore, MN, where she lived until moving to Bethany Good Samaritan Village in March of this year.
Joan was preceded in death her parents, Arthur and Jennie; her husband, Orvel; and a brother, Arley Lund. She is mourned in passing by her brother, Art Lund of Wadena, and many nieces and nephews.
