Joan Dotzler

Joan Dotzler, 76, of Aitkin, MN, died following a long battle of cancer on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin surrounded with her family. A Celebration of Joan's Life will be held from 1-5 PM on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the home of Tom and Bunny Dotzler. All family and friends are invited.

Joan was born March 24, 1936 in Mayfield, KY, the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Larson) Brutsche. She graduated from Aitkin High School in 1954. She received her Registered Nursing Degree from St. Mary's in Rochester, MN. On November 12, 1957, she was united in marriage to Terry Dotzler. In addition to working as an RN, Terry and Joan owned and operated Dotzler Implement and Hardware in Aitkin - a company they started in 1963. They enjoyed working together on the family farm. She cherished her role as a Wife, Mom and Grandma.

Joan is survived by her husband, Terry; sons, Tom (Bunny) Dotzler, of Aitkin and Pat (Sherie) Dotzler, of Avon, MN; daughter, Dorothy Dotzler, of Aikin; sisters, Trudy Brutsche, of Napa, CA and Carol Keenon, of Turlock, CA; grandchildren, Nikki, Kenzie, Sam and Matthew Dotzler, of Avon, MN; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howard Brutsche; grandson, Stevie Dotzler; and grandmother, Anna Larson.
