Jimmy M. Thompson, age 64, of Brainerd, died on Monday, May 28, 2001, at the Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. A gathering of friends and family will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 2, 2001, with services at 1:30 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
Jimmy Marvin Thompson was born on January 16, 1937, in Casselton, North Dakota, to Albert and Beatrice (Brieland) Thompson. He moved with his family to Brainerd at the age of 16. He attended school in Brainerd and later entered the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Brainerd and worked as a mill right until his retirement in the early 1980?s. Jimmy was a dedicated fisherman and also enjoyed bow hunting. He also enjoyed singing with area bands and time spent with his best friend, Fred the Beagle.
Jimmy is survived by family and friends: Audrey & Ken Minor, Gladys M. Quigley, Jerry & Diane Thompson, Vince Anderson, Bev Sullivan, 3 nephews, 1 niece, as well as special grand-nephews and grand-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Beatrice; brother-in-law, James Quigley and friend, Dave Barnum.
