Jerry Smedley

Jerry Smedley, age 72, of Staples, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, at his home. He was born to Orr and Irene Smedley on September 21, 1944, in Moline, IL. Jerry graduated from Brainerd High School. He drove truck and enjoyed hunting, fishing, checking his trail cams and most any outdoor adventure. He found great joy in his grandchildren whom he loved very much.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Edith; daughters: Danielle Mullen (Erik) of Moorhead, MN, Nicole Hestbeck (Eric) of West Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Jeremy, Bella, Luke, Parker, Aiden and another grandchild on the way; and brother-in-law, William "Bill" Cusey.

Services will be 1 PM on Wednesday, March 29, at First Lutheran Church, Pine River. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
