Beloved Husband, Father, and Brother
Jerome (Jerry) W. Bahr, born April 11, 1943, passed away peacefully at his home with family early Friday morning, March 16, 2018. He was 74 years young.
Jerome joined the Navy in 1961. He was a Seabee for a time and served three tours in Vietnam. While enlisted, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree. He retired with 24 plus years of proud service. He also retired from two other careers, as a government contractor and truck driver. Jerry loved his family and loved spending time with them going fishing, playing horseshoes, pool, and playing his accordion. He enjoyed listening to Classic Country, Polka, and early Rock and Roll music. And he loved to crack a good joke! He was proud to be an American and a Vietnam veteran as well. Jerry was very well-loved, will truly be missed, and will always be in our hearts.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary E. Bahr; his daughter, Lorene Hobbs; their sons, Greg Bahr and Garth Bahr; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his sisters, Sally Peterson and Judy Young; and his brothers, Gene Bahr and Tom Bahr. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Bahr and Marion Bahr; his brother, Melvin; and his sisters, Ilo Riebe, Viola Carlson, and Elsie Johnson.
