Jeffrey Lynn Sliker was born in Rochester, MN on May 28, 1960, and died on May 24, 2014 in Redwood Falls, MN, after a hard fought battle with esophageal cancer.

Jeff grew up in Rochester, Willmar and Anoka, MN and graduated from Anoka High School in 1980. He lived in the metro area until 2001, when he moved to Redwood Falls. He had various jobs, most recently employed by Heartland Industries. Jeff was known for his sense of humor and love of life. He liked fishing, movies, TV, scale model cars, his bike and spaghetti. Jeff faced many medical challenges throughout his life always with a positive attitude. "Piece of cake, Mom!" He underwent two kidney transplants (1986 and 2000) and dialysis the past four years.

He was preceded in death by his father Frederick Sliker, grandparents and much loved dog, Miller. Jeff is survived by parents, Wallace (Gene) and Beverly (Beavers) Peterson; sisters, Andrea (Michael Kirchner) Sliker, Sandra Peterson, Carol (Peter) Sonntag; stepmother, Shirley Sliker; step-brothers, Robert and Daniel Peterson; aunt, Carolyn (Don) Raper; great aunts, Adelia Hauff and Eda Bachmann; nieces; nephews, cousins; other family and many friends.

Special thanks to Brad Helgeson, caregiver; Redwood Hospital Hospice; REM Staff, and Heartland Industries for their care and concern for Jeff and his family. Jeff was a loving son, brother, grandson, and friend, always concerned for others and living his life to the fullest.

A Birthday Celebration of Jeff's life will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11:00AM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes, MN with visitation beginning at 10:00AM. Interment at Our Saviors Cemetery in Pequot Lakes, MN. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 6:00PM at Living Word Church in Redwood Falls, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes, MN.
