Jeannette Jones

Jeannette Jones, age 85, of Brainerd passed away quietly and unexpectedly at her home on Friday, June 8, 2018. Jeannette’s memorial service will be on Saturday, June 23 at2:00PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Brainerd, followed by a luncheon reception at Brenny Funeral Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Brainerd.

Julia “Jeannette” Shaffer was the eldest of six children, and was born on May 2, 1933 in Elkhart, Iowa to James and Julia (Scott) Shaffer. She grew up in Iowa and was married to John Jones on December 26, 1950. The couple moved to California where they raised their family. They moved to the Brainerd area in 1974. Jeannette’s love of Jehovah and her understanding of His truths as revealed in the Bible were most important to her. She loved helping others come to know Him and the hope she cherished. She took great pride in caring for her home and family. She also loved playing the piano, yardwork, and special times with family and friends.

Jeannette is survived by her children: Donna (George) Oberton, Michael (Alice) Jones, and Robert (Cindy) Jones; her grandchildren: Kris, Jason, Jaclyn, and Joseph; her siblings: Kathy (Keith) Beckheyer, Margie (Roger) Blomberg, and Joan (Rick) Stillwell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by John, her loving husband of 66 years in 2016; her parents, James and Julia Shaffer; and her brothers Jimmy and Dean Shaffer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
