Jeanette (Mrs. John) Krizek, formerly of Nisswa, died Friday, November 24, 2006 at Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 2, at 11 AM, at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa, with Reverend Chris Meier officiating. Friends may visit at the church during the hour prior to services. Private interment will be at a later date, at Bohemian Cemetery near Cadott, WI. Memorials to the family will be donated to Lutheran Church of the Cross.
Jeanette Marie Kral was born May 24, 1915 at Colborn, WI, to Frank and Mary (Odenbach) Kral. She was the eldest of three children, followed by siblings Marcella and Paul. She shared a house with four others while attending high school in Stanley, WI. At age 20 she completed teachers college, and taught at a one-room school house for a time. She was united in marriage to John Krizek September 9, 1939, in Cornell, WI. They had two children, Judith in 1940 and Jon in 1941. The family lived in Cornell until moving to Minneapolis in 1942. In 1963 John and Jeanette moved to the Nisswa area and purchased Wilderness Point Resort on Middle Cullen Lake. They owned and operated the resort until their retirement in 1973, when they moved to their home on Mission Road.
Jeanette is survived by her children, Jon (Gwen) Krizek, Elk River and Judith Nelson, Clearbrook; a brother, Paul (Rita) Kral, Chippewa Falls, WI; grandchildren, Cindy (Jeff) Dosh, Dilworth, Shari (Ken) Cowles, Zimmerman, and Kurt (Tina) Krizek, Fishers, IN; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
