Jean Norskov

April 7, 1921 — January 24, 2012

Jean Mae was born on April 7, 1921 in Dubuque, IA to Charles and Jean Kampmann (Wilkinson). She graduated from the Dubuque Senior High school in 1940. During her younger years she enjoyed softball and swimming and earned certification as a Life Guard. During World War II she spent time in Germany and other parts of Europe. Upon coming back to the states, she moved to Florida which would prove to be one of her favorite places. In the 1950's, she moved back to Minnesota, where met George Norskov and they married on July 12, 1959 in Brainerd, MN. Two children were born to this union. Jean loved managing her home and cooking for her family; especially baking cookies and cakes. She was most proud of being a lifelong Weight Watcher and in 1974 was rewarded for losing over 100 pounds; the first in her area to achieve this goal. She was active with Camp Fire Girls, Cub Scouts and bowling leagues. She liked to crochet and paint ceramics. In 1980, she and George moved to Florida to spend their golden years in warm weather. In 2002, they moved back to Brainerd, MN to be closer to their family.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, George in 2004; her brother, Charles William Kampmann in 2011 and her parents, Charles Edward and Jean Kampmann. She is survived by her family, daughter, Perian (Richard) Stavrum, of St. Joseph, MN.; son, Christian Norskov, of East Gull Lake, MN.Special nieces and nephews, Candace and Jim Amos, of Loomis, CA; Charles and Kimberly Kampmann Jr. of Rocklin, CA., Jim and Karen Kampmann, of Roseville, CA; great nephews and niece, Erik Kampmann, of Florida, Nicole Kampmann, of San Francisco, Stephen Kampmann, of Loomis, CA, Conner Kampmann, of Roseville, CA.
The family would like to thank the Woodland Good Samaritan Community for their exemplary care and support of Jean and the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the charity of the donor's choice.
