Jean Hoglund

Jean Ann (Sutherland) Hoglund passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in Avon Park, FL, at the age of 73. She was born in Estherville, IA, the daughter of Rowland G. and Ardis Clarissa Anora (Rinderknicht) Sutherland. She married Don Hoglund of Cloquet, MN in 1957. After starting her career as a wife and mother to four sons, she then spent many years as a telephone company supervisor with NW Bell/US West/Qwest. Raising and showing Saint Bernard dogs was a hobby that became a passion. Many weekends were spent traveling with the family going to dog shows. After the dog show competition was defeated, she turned her weekend passion to cheering on the Vikings and going to the lake cabin trailer. She had been a resident of Sebring, FL since 2001 moving from the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Park. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roland "Jock" Sutherland, of St. Paul, MN. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Don Hoglund, of Sebring, FL; children, Michael (Peg) Hoglund, of Boca Raton, FL, David (Terry) Hoglund, of Minneapolis, MN, Robert (Cathy) Hoglund, of Denver, CO, and Steven (Susi) Hoglund, of Italy; sister, Sara (Ken) Broady, of New Hope, MN; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Jean's life is planned for 4:00 PM, Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services and for a dinner following.
