Jay Loren Krone, 76, of Fifty Lakes, died Friday, May 1, 2009 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Services for Jay will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 7, 2009 at St. Emilys Catholic Church in Emily with Father Kuriakose K.K.Nediakala officiating. Friends are welcome to visit one hour prior to services. Memorials are preferred in American Diabetes Association or the Dialysis Unit at St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd.
Jay was born June 11, 1932 in Hanover, MN, the son of Emil and Lilly (Schmidt) Krone. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth BettyBrodtmann on August 31, 1957. The couple lived and raised their family in Brooklyn Park. Jay worked for over 40 years as a truck driver for Corning-Donahue where he delivered building materials. He was a very social man who enjoyed his church card club and meat raffles. He was also an avid fisherman. Jay was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crosslake.
He will be missed by his children, Kathy (Lester) Thooft, of Big Lake, Ken (Tammi) Krone, of Duluth, Patty Pruitt, of Coon Rapids, Terry (Doug) Inman, of Hamilton, OH, Debbie (Chad) Schmitz, of Ramsey, and Jenny (Scott) Peterson, of Hanover; his sister, Dina Brooks, of Andover; his brother, Russell (Kathy) Krone, of Monticello; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Jay was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his parents; and his brother, Marvin.
