Jason Smith

Jason Smith passed away at the age of 34 on Sunday, May 25, 2008 in Staples, MN. He was born in California on July 16, 1973. In March of 1980, he and his family moved to Brainerd, MN. He made Brainerd his hometown.
Jason is survived by his two sons, Ryan (14) and Justin (12) Smith; his mother and step-father, Wanda (Diehl) and Joe Verkennes; his brother and sister-in-law, Jessie and Danie (Beavers) Smith and their children, Cameron (3), Isaac (2), and Tessah (1); his sister and brother-in-law, Erica (Holmes) and George Wilson and their children, Chykia (18) and Chantel (17) Holmes, Darius (13) and Austin (12) Polipnick; his grandmother, Alice Forner; six aunts, five uncles; 16 cousins; 30 second cousins; and his father, Richard Smith.

Jason was a very out-going person and a very loving man and father. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting. He loved being outdoors doing things with his sons. He will be loved and missed by many family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter (7348 Excelsior Road, Baxter, MN 56425  800.824.5051). A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM. A luncheon will follow the service at the Brenny Reception Room.
