Janis Brekke

Janis Paula Brekke, age 68, of Pequot Lakes and formerly Bloomington, passed away September 9, 2015. She was born February 16, 1947 in Minneapolis. Janis was preceded in death by her parents, David and Caroline Auchterlonie. She is survived by her loving husband, William; brothers: Eric Auchterlonie, Dirk Auchterlonie (Cheryl); sister, Claudia Wallentine (Michael); many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jan met Bill, the love of her life, at the Starlight in 1968. They married on November 6, 1971 at Grace Methodist Church in Pequot Lakes. They resided in Bloomington for 33 years and retired to Pequot Lakes in 2001.

Jan loved all her friends and family, the dogs and cats they had along the way and the wildlife. She was the mowing queen and loved comedy, country music, beer and cooking and she made a great pie. We will greatly miss her.

Memorial services will be 1 PM on Wednesday, September 16 at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
