Janet Boner

February 5, 1929 — February 16, 2012

Thursday, February 16th, 2012 Janet Nelson Boner was unexpectedly recruited by God to join His bridge team. We are confident that the fishing is also very good or she would not have agreed to go. Janet always caught the first, the biggest and the most fish. Along with her passion for fishing and bridge Janet was also a talented artist and seamstress. Janet also loved to travel, as long as she was accompanied by her youngest daughter Claudia and together they traveled to many far reaches of the world. Janet was passionate about life, but her highest priority and greatest joy in life was her love for her family and friends. Janet always offered a smile and kind support to all, even as she suffered in silence in recent years. We will forever respect and remember her for her kindness and strength.
Janet was born on February 5th, 1929 in Des Moines, to Alex R. and Vera A. (Kaut) Nelson. She graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Interior design. While at college she met Harry Boner and on May 6th, 1951 they were married and made their home in Denver where they raised five children. Janet continued the family tradition of summers at Gull Lake where many of the family's best memories were made. Janet's love of the lake eventually led to her decision to make the cabin she loved her full time home.
Janet will forever be remembered by her family and many friends. Her daughters; Claudia Allene, Nisswa, MN, Maria Mason Woodside, Denver, CO. Pamela Ann (Bill Sinn) Mason, Lakeshore, MN. Her sons; Nelson Lee (Lisa) Boner, Concord California, Joseph Alexander (Mary) Mason, Castle Rock, CO. Her Grandchildren; Jessica, Ria, Allene, Grace, Mason, Faith and Luke. Janet was preceded in death by her husband; Harry, her parents Alex and Vera, her sister Allene and her dear friend Dr Gene Bierhaus.
Interment will be in Des Moines, IA at a later date.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday February 25th at the Gull Lake Yacht Club at 19696 Love Lake Rd, Brainerd, MN. In lieu of gifts, donations could be made to; Gull Chain of Lakes Association, PO Box 102, Nisswa, MN. 56468.
